Delicious, all meat, barbacoa that is flavored well. Very nice couple who welcome you when you arrive and the aroma when you go inside whets the appetite! They only accept cash. Next time will try the pork tamales. Reasonable prices. Check them out if you enjoy barbacoa.
Just tried it for the first time today and very fortunately it's the first Sunday of the month which means SMOKED BARBACOA! The meat was super tender and delicious- that smokey flavor can not be beat! I also had their regular barbacoa which was just as good as their smoked barbacoa! <3 We were welcomed immediately and service was 10/10- I will be returning here for all my barbacoa needs!! definitely worth checking out if you love barbacoa and big red! :)
I craved some good barbacoa tacos, and could not find any good places in my area so I found Pepe's off Google maps and they were rated very good I decided to try them out and I'm very happy I did!! It's worth the drive and they were definitely worth it! They are off 410 & Bandera, it's not noticeable you have to really pay attention or you might pass it. Its family owned and we were greeted by the nicest couple who welcomed us and handed us some stickers and business cards. The best customer service, Even gave us great suggestions and told us about every 1st of the Sunday they have the best SMOKED barbacoa, which I'm excited to come back & try! I love how they provided everything for you like avocados, big red and fresh Pico del Gallo, I didn't have to stop at HEB. the barbacoa was on point, moist, tender, and flavorful! Lol don't judge me but this girl can eat, I ended up eating 6 tacos! Thank you again! I will be back.
I been going to Pepe’s a little over 1 year for the all meat and I finally had the chance to try their smoked Barbacoa and let me tell you ! It’s life changing. When ever I’m in the mood for Barbacoa it’s going to be Pepe’s smoked Barbacoa for the rest of my life. Thank you for making me and my family happy !!
Absolutely amazing. First time visiting I was able to try the smoked barbacoa (apparently only available the first Sunday of each month) and it’s fantastic!!! So happy I took the chance on this place and will be a returning customer moving forward. Service was fast and friendly and thrilled to see such high health scores displayed. Definitely worth the drive.
It seems like a family business. Speaker outside with music. Screen door entry. Line inside and outside. Small establishment, but they are quick. Manager comes out and checks on everyone and asks the next person in line their order so they can already set it up so by the time they are to pay it's ready for the customer. Same applies to the others they ask ahead of time to speed things up which is a good thing. Inside establishment there is a big fan on a stand so I'm guessing the a/c doesn't circulate as much especially with the front door opening and closing cause of customers, however, while in line it didn't feel hot at all and outside it's around 85°+ today. 2 lbs Barbacoa and 1 large Salsa for about $41 not too bad compared to other locations. Parking spot is small but I was able to find several spots. This has to do with the speed of service as you'd just wait a minute or two and someone is leaving the lot already. So far so good. A good drive for me to go to but so far worth the drive even though several other barbacoa locations exist near me they just aren't consistent so looking forward to finding out how consistent they are. Oh it seems the type of location that you pick up only no dining in. Also picked up barbacoa around 10am and they still had plenty on a Sunday. I think their sign says open Saturday and Sunday but I'm not 100% on that as I had left before writing this review.
Haven’t found a better barbacoa yet. This tiny place pumps out the best I’ve ever had. It’s full of flavor. No need to add salt. Can’t comment on the other items but the guy behind me in line said the smoked barbacoa is fire but only available the first weekend of every month. Read this place came in 3rd awhile back in a barbacoa competition so I’m definitely curious about 1st and 2nd because for me, you’d be hard pressed to beat this place.
The barbacoa was damn good. Not greasy and just right. The tamales were okay. I think my were a little toasted too much. I liked the corn tortillas and flour. I will be back
